{Review} Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! Level 3

Greek 'n' Stuff

Biblical Greek is a language that we would like all of our children learn.  Sweet Pea loves foreign languages and earlier in the year, she expressed interest in learning Greek.  For the past few weeks we have been reviewing Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 3 set by Greek ‘n’ Stuff.

Hey, Andrew!Teach Me Some Greek!

The Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 3 Set comes with a workbook, an answer key, and a pronunciation CD.
The answer key is the teacher’s book.  It includes the answers to all of the student pages as well as a general lesson set up and teacher tips.  The course is designed for the students to complete one page per day along with practicing the flashcards daily.  However, you student can choose to complete more than one page per day, especially if they are older when taking this course.  There is an available schedule break down for those who prefer a lesson approach.  It is highly suggested to progress through the lessons at the student’s pace.  It should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete most pages and no longer than 45-60 minutes if you do an entire lesson as provided on the schedule.
Level 3 begins by reviewing the Greek Alphabet. Then it moves on to vocabulary words, Greek grammar, and translation exercises.  There is a lot of practice opportunities for writing, including writing simple Greek sentences.
The student book is a black and white spiral bound workbook.  There are flash cards in the back of the student book to cut out and glue on index cards.  We laminated the cards and put them on a book ring to keep them in order.

Our thoughts…

I like how the Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 3 set is set up and the flexibility.   We did one page per day as intended and got through approximately one lesson per week at that schedule.  There are a couple weeks that have 6 or 7 pages.  I like the handwriting lines throughout the workbook giving Sweet Pea the opportunity to write the Greek letters with the correct spacing. From personal experience it is hard to write Greek letters with the correct spacing when just starting out. Sweet Pea will be continuing to use Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 3.
