I had the wonderful pleasure of reviewing My Mother’s Quilts Devotions of Love, Legacy, Family and Faith by Ramona Richards.\u00a0 I was thrilled when this book came up for review as I do some quilting as did my husband’s grandmother and my grandmother.\u00a0 This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys quilting!<\/p>\n

The hardback book is 219 pages and has 60 beautiful stories inspired by thirty heirloom quilts.\u00a0 Every story begins with a Bible verse and ends with a prayer starter.\u00a0 We get a glimpse into the author’s life as we read through the book and read the stories.\u00a0 There is a ribbon book mark to mark your place while you are reading this book.\u00a0\u00a0It is handy to have in case you need to keep your place in the book but\u00a0I will say putting the book down was a very hard thing to do!!\u00a0 Every story\u00a0left me with\u00a0wanting to read\u00a0another one.\u00a0\u00a0Throughout each story you also get to look at\u00a0a full size photo of one of the heirloom quilts along with a close up photo of a section of the quilt.\u00a0 All of the quilts are beautiful!!<\/p>\n

Reading these stories bring back memories as both of our\u00a0wonderful grandmothers made quilts for\u00a0my husband and I\u00a0and our children.\u00a0 In fact the one that is currently\u00a0on our bed is one that my husband’s grandmother made for his dad, who has since passed.\u00a0 My husband’s grandmother introduced me to quilting on my first trip to see her at her house.\u00a0 While that trip was memorable in more ways than one, I remember sitting in their living room hand sewing octagons and working on\u00a0the ‘Grandmother’s Flower Garden’ pattern.\u00a0 Something that I will cherish forever.\u00a0 I loved getting to view photos of the beautiful quilts in\u00a0this book and it\u00a0has given me inspiration on what to do with some of the fabric that I have, including some fabric that came from my grandmother’s stash that I received on a recent trip to see her.<\/p>\n
