We received a one-year CTCMath Homeschool Membership<\/a> by CTCMath<\/a>\u00a0to review.\u00a0 With the membership we\u00a0have received unlimited access to all lessons for every grade and can access it from anywhere that there is an internet connection.\u00a0 CTCMath is great for large families!\u00a0 The CTCMath Homeschool Membership allows up to 10 students!<\/b><\/i><\/u><\/p>\n

\"CTCMath<\/a><\/p>\n

Parent Area of CTCMath:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the parent’s area, I can manage and create tasks, manage my kid’s information, and view weekly reports.\u00a0 In the parent’s area\u00a0I loved having the ability to schedule tasks in advance! Creating tasks is simple.\u00a0 I choose the date and time\u00a0that I want the assignments completed, a\u00a0title (up to 100 words) and description (up to 200 words) are entered, add the lessons, add diagnostic tests, and assign students to the task.\u00a0 The other options that are available are that I can have the task report automatically emailed to me when the task falls due, I can require that the lessons and diagnostic test be completed in a specific order, and I can hide the year level of the lessons and diagnostic tests from my children.\u00a0 Lessons & diagnostic tests\u00a0are not available to my children\u00a0until the date and time that are entered.\u00a0 If needed\u00a0the dates and times can be changed on every task.\u00a0 The weekly reports are emailed to me every week.\u00a0 In the weekly reports, I receive a\u00a0pdf attachment that\u00a0contains the\u00a0weekly activity log and the overall performance of\u00a0my kids (how many assignments that have been completed on time, late, and incomplete, the\u00a0average\u00a0grade, and how many\u00a0lessons that have been completed.\u00a0 The weekly reports are also available on the CTCMath website for up to three months.<\/p>\n

Lessons are a great length for my young children!\u00a0 The\u00a0lessons are video lessons for my girls the videos have been less than\u00a05 minutes\u00a0in duration\u00a0and then my children answer a series of questions.\u00a0\u00a0They receive immediate feedback if they answered the questions correct or not.\u00a0 At the end of every lesson I have an option of printing a copy (More about\u00a0that\u00a0later.)\u00a0of the questions that my girls have completed.\u00a0 The lessons take about 15 minutes total to be completed.<\/p>\n

Student Area of CTCMath:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every child has their own log-in information to access the student area.\u00a0\u00a0The student menu contains lessons, tasks, results, settings, and history.\u00a0\u00a0The girls\u00a0have access to\u00a0every lesson\u00a0from Kindergarten to Trigonometry.\u00a0 While it is a great option to have for student led learning, it would be nice to be able to have an option to disable access to other areas if needed.\u00a0 All of the asks that have been assigned to the student are accessed from the tasks menu.\u00a0 The girls are able to view their results for the tasks,\u00a0diagnostic tests, as well as view detailed reports.\u00a0 In settings, they are given the option to change the display colors, including making their own choice of colors to pair together.<\/p>\n

Printing from CTCMath:<\/strong><\/p>\n

After\u00a0every lesson has been completed, CTCMath offers the opportunity to print the completed lesson directly through a print button on their website.\u00a0 I like\u00a0having the ability to print\u00a0a copy of the work that my children have completed.\u00a0 Sweet Pea has been completing most of her lessons on an iPad.\u00a0 There are a couple of different ways to print the lesson from the iPad and I printed both ways to compare the way that they print.\u00a0 The two options\u00a0I used\u00a0was printing through the print button on the CTCMath website and printing through the share to printer feature on the iPad.\u00a0 I did notice a couple of differences.<\/p>\n

The pages printed from the website print button:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like that the pages included the student’s name, the date the lesson was completed, the grade level,\u00a0the lesson name (Subtraction up to 20)\u00a0& location (2nd Grade –> Number, Patterns and Algebra –> Subtraction), the score, the number correct, and duration.<\/p>\n

On the printed page, I am shown the problems that my girls have completed as shown to them.\u00a0 Some of the questions are just the questions themselves (IE: 12-4, 10+1, 37-23, etc.) and others had the\u00a0questions along with\u00a0the\u00a0manipulatives they used (ice cream cones,\u00a0smiley faces, blocks, etc.), the problem, a blank answer box, and a check mark to mark that the\u00a0problem was answered correctly.\u00a0 However, it did not have the answer in the answer box.\u00a0\u00a0The formatting of the page is slightly\u00a0off.\u00a0 The questions themselves are smushed together and the words are overlapping.<\/p>\n

From the iPad share to printer option:<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we printed the completed lesson\u00a0using the print button on the CTCMath website there is a little more formatting\u00a0at the\u00a0header\u00a0and footer\u00a0of the page (see the picture).\u00a0\u00a0In between the two it is set up similar to printing through the CTCMath\u00a0website print option.\u00a0 However printing through this option, the answers the girls responded with\u00a0ARE included on the page.\u00a0 Like printing directly from the CTC print button feature, the formatting is off when printing through the iPad share\u00a0to printer\u00a0option.\u00a0 This time some of the questions, overlapped onto the question to the right of it, or part of the question was cut off completely.<\/p>\n

I did find out that there is no way to go back and print a copy of\u00a0a previously completed lesson so the lessons & tests must be printed at the time of completion.\u00a0\u00a0An option\u00a0to be able to print the completed\u00a0pages at a later date or email a pdf copy of the\u00a0completed lesson\u00a0to the email on\u00a0the account\u00a0would be a wonderful\u00a0addition!<\/p>\n

Overall, we enjoyed using the elementary school levels of\u00a0CTCMath!\u00a0 \u00a0When I asked Sweet Pea\u00a0what she liked the most she told me\u00a0that she loves everything about CTCMath!\u00a0 I think it is a great program whether you are looking for a complete program or something to supplement in the elementary school years.<\/p>\n
