All four books are non-fiction\u00a0paperback books packed full with facts\u00a0and beautiful illustrations.\u00a0 The stories are written\u00a0through the\u00a0eyes of young children and the children tell us all about the era that we are reading about.\u00a0 The If You Were Me and Lived in … series are a great addition to anyone’s home library!\u00a0 They can be added to any history program or unit study and are great even by themselves!<\/p>\n

Take a trip to Colonial America in If You Were Me and Lived in…Colonial America (An Introduction to Civilizations Throughout Time) (Volume 4)<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0In this paperback book we\u00a0learn all about Colonial America through the eyes of a young boy.\u00a0 He tells the story<\/p>\n

At the end 0f the b00k there is a list\u00a0of some of the influential people in Colonial America and a glossary.<\/p>\n

\"If<\/a><\/p>\n

In If You Were Me and Lived in… Elizabethan England (An Introduction to Civilizations Throughout Time) (Volume 3)<\/a>\u00a0we learn about what our names may have been, where we may have lived, and what\u00a0trade\u00a0our father\u00a0may have had,\u00a0had we lived in London during this time through the eyes of a young lady.\"\"\u00a0 Other topics that are covered are: royalty, foods, education, currency, toys, religion,\u00a0clothes, and theatre.\u00a0 At the end of the book there is a section with important people in the Elizabethan era as well as a glossary.<\/p>\n

In If You Were Me and Lived in…the Middle Ages (Volume 6)<\/a>\"\", the illustrations take up 3\/4 of every page.\u00a0Some of what you learn includes\u00a0occupations, family life, what your name\u00a0may have\u00a0been, where you lived and what you wore and what you ate.\u00a0 \u00a0At the end of the book there are pages with famous people from the Middle Ages and a glossary.<\/p>\n

Like If You Were Me and Lived in…the Middle Ages, If You Were Me and Lived in…Ancient Greece (An Introduction to Civilizations Throughout Time) (Volume 1)<\/a>\"\"\u00a0has illustrations that cover 3\/4 of the page.\u00a0\u00a0Some of what you learn in the book is information about\u00a0the country,\u00a0 what you name may have been\u00a0if you and your siblings lived in Ancient Greece,\u00a0where you may have lived,\u00a0what you may have eaten, the society, and even learn about the\u00a0Olympics.\u00a0\u00a0 In the back of the book there is a list of Gods & Goddesses of Ancient Greece and a glossary.<\/p>\n

I love these books!!\u00a0 They are full of lots of facts and no fluff!\u00a0 They keep the kids engaged with the\u00a0books through\u00a0the illustrations on every page.\u00a0 I like that\u00a0everything is told through the\u00a0eyes of a child. \u00a0During the review we read the books together in the evening.\u00a0 Our history curriculum is a literature based curriculum and I will be adding these books to our reading\u00a0list to be used when we cover these eras.<\/p>\n
