The students from Manchester Middle,\u00a0Rush Revere, and Liberty\u00a0get to experience front row seats of\u00a0important events in American History.\u00a0 American History is presented to readers\u00a0in such a fun and fascinating way you are left wanting to read more.<\/p>\n
On page 128 in ‘Rush Revere and the American Revolution’, while Liberty and Rush Revere are watching the Battle of Concord unfold before their eyes,\u00a0Liberty sums up the experience when he said:<\/p>\n
“Seriously, these are really great seats,”\u00a0 said Liberty, still munching.\u00a0 “Standing behind this tall hedge and under this apple tree is the perfect hideout.\u00a0 And it is like we’re on the fifty-yard line at a football game.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rush Revere\u00a0first meets the students while\u00a0substitute teaching\u00a0for an\u00a0Honor’s History class.\u00a0 Before they find out about Liberty’s abilities he records the lessons via phone.<\/p>\n

Rush Revere finds himself invited back to Manchester Middle school to substitute teach for the same Honors History Class.\u00a0 The kids\u00a0travel to meet Ben Franklin, Patrick Henry, and\u00a0King George III.\u00a0\u00a0 They learn about the Stamp Act, ride in a carriage in London, visit the House of Commons.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nThere is a bit of excitement as Liberty accidentally brings one of the famous men in history to the present.\u00a0 Will they be able to return him\u00a0back to the past or will he be stuck in the present?\u00a0 They also must try and stop their classmate Elizabeth\u00a0from making\u00a0changes\u00a0to History.<\/p>\n

Rush Revere and the American Revolution<\/strong><\/p>\n
Robert Newman, Dr. Joseph Warren, Paul Revere, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and George Washington are some of the people that we get to meet in ‘Rush Revere and the American Revolution’.<\/p>\n

\nWe get to learn about when Paul Revere was captured, the Battle of Lexington Green, and the Battle of Concord.\u00a0 Tommy gets a once in a lifetime learning experience when he gets to help keep a look out for John Hancock and Samuel Adams.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/crayonstokeyboards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/rev1-e1498064504317-225x300.jpg\")
<\/p>\nThere are also important lessons learned as Cam applies what he has learned while travelling through History to events that he is dealing with in the present day.<\/p>\n
*An interesting historical nugget: The Battle of Bunker Hill was actually fought on Breed’s Hill.<\/p>\n

Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner<\/strong><\/p>\n
In ‘Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner’, the students from Manchester Middle School travel to the early 1800’s.\u00a0 They learn more about Washington D.C. while it was still called Washington City.\u00a0 While there they meet First Lady Dolley Madison.\u00a0 In present times, they explore the National Archives, the Washington Monument, and shop at the Washington Mall, visit the Capitol Building and even attend a professional baseball game.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nAs well, the\u00a0group travels back into time in 1787 to Philadelphia.\u00a0 They learn about the Philadelphia Convention, meet the founders of the United States, how the Constitution of the United States of America was written as well as the Bill of Rights.<\/p>\n

Rush Revere and the Presidency<\/strong><\/p>\n
In ‘Rush Revere and the Presidency’, Cam decides he is interested in running for Student Council President. With his dad deployed overseas, Cam asks for Mr. Revere’s assistance.\u00a0 He learns many lessons about what it will take to lead his fellow classmates.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nIn the book, we get to meet Judge Robert Livingston, watch the inauguration of George Washington as the first President of the United States, see where George Washington lived after his inauguration, meet Mrs. Washington, President Adams, Mrs. Adams, and President Jefferson.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Our Thoughts<\/strong><\/p>\n
Sweet Pea, Peanut, Lil’ Bit, and I have been enjoying the Adventures of Rush Revere!\u00a0 We\u00a0have been reading\u00a0the books aloud together in the evenings before bed.\u00a0 They\u00a0(and I) absolutely love the series!\u00a0 The girls are disappointed when it is time to finish for the evening and eagerly wait to hear what happens next, the\u00a0following evening.\u00a0 Liberty and his antics keeps us laughing as he sometimes has a hard time staying out of trouble.\u00a0\u00a0When I ask questions about what has happened recently in the books they are able to recall\u00a0what has been going on.\u00a0 That doesn’t happen to all of the read a louds that we do!\u00a0 I am excited that they are excited to read these books with me!<\/p>\n
I love the adventures that the gang did!\u00a0 My favorite book\u00a0was the ‘Rush Revere and the American Revolution’.\u00a0 It kept me on the edge of my toes at times and the ending did leave me a bit teary eyed.\u00a0\u00a0I look forward to any additional books that are added to this series!!<\/p>\n
