<\/center>Are you ready to go exploring around the world, visiting many countries and learning all about them?\u00a0Let\u2019s Go Geography<\/a> <\/strong>is a\u00a0fun and engaging Geography curriculum that my family and I have had the opportunity to review Year 1 of Let’s Go Geography<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Let's<\/a><\/center> <\/p>\n

Let’s Go Geography<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is a thirty six week geography course for children in grades Kindergarten through Fourth. In Year 1 we will study a total of\u00a02 U.S. Regions and 26 countries.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Let's<\/a><\/center>Every week you will get a weekly\u00a0email with links\u00a0to\u00a0the next week’s curriculum.\u00a0 The links take you to your online account and from there you can download the lesson.\u00a0 You can also go into your account at any time\u00a0for access to all of the lessons that you have purchased.\u00a0 The lessons are designed to complete one a week.\u00a0 They take approximately one hour which you can complete on one day or spread the activities over the week.\u00a0 Also built into the schedule are four breaks\u00a0for those times you\u00a0may need to take off. Great for when something unplanned,\u00a0like a hurricane, disrupts your schedule.\u00a0 The breaks are scheduled once every nine weeks and if you need to take it earlier than it is\u00a0on the schedule it makes rescheduling a breeze.<\/p>\n

Every lesson begns with various facts about the country or region that you are studying.\u00a0 This includes the continent, capital, largest city, language(s), population, etc.\u00a0 Then it includes an itinerary checklist for the lesson and a supply list.<\/p>\n

There are\u00a0six chapters in every lesson: Map It!, The Flag, The Music, Let’s Explore, Create, and Printables.<\/p>\n

Map It!<\/b> –\u00a0\u00a0Locate the country\/region on\u00a0a map and\u00a0label the map.<\/p>\n

The Flag<\/b> – You students learn about the flag and will print out a flag\u00a0to add to\u00a0their travel journal.<\/p>\n

The Music<\/b> – Your students will learn music from the country and links are included to watch and listen to them.<\/p>\n

Let’s Explore<\/b> – Your students will explore the area and learn more facts about the country or region that you are studying.\u00a0 There are pictures and links\u00a0are provided with the lessons\u00a0as well as other resources to check out.<\/p>\n

Create<\/b> – Fun, hands-on activities!\u00a0 They range from coloring sheets to crafts.<\/p>\n

Printables<\/b> – Any printables that you need for the lesson such as journaling sheets, coloring pages, flags, etc.<\/p>\n

Everything goes into the Travel Journal (a 3 ring binder).\u00a0 At the end of the year, your student will have a keepsake scrapbook\u00a0of\u00a0their travels\u00a0that they can keep for years to come.<\/p>\n

Our Thoughts….<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really like the flexibility of Let’s Go Geography!\u00a0\u00a0I can\u00a0tailor it to fit the needs of my children.\u00a0 While\u00a0the program is\u00a0geared towards Kindergarten to Fourth grades,\u00a0the lessons can\u00a0easily\u00a0be adapted\u00a0to include younger or older children!\u00a0 Munchkin\u00a0is three and loves doing the crafts and looking through the books\u00a0with her older siblings.\u00a0 In the picture below she is making a Lighthouse during our study about the Northeast United States.<\/p>\n

Another great thing is that there are\u00a0some resources provided along with\u00a0the call numbers to find books in the library\u00a0but no specific list of books.\u00a0 I can go to our local county and city libraries and check out the books that are currently there on the shelf for the states and countries instead of trying to track down a specific set of books.<\/p>\n

All of the kids have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Northeast US, Hawaii, Canada, and Haiti during our review.\u00a0 They are looking forward to learning about Nicaragua this week.<\/p>\n
