My family had the pleasure of reviewing Stopmotion Explosion Animation Kit<\/a> by Stopmotion Explosion<\/a>.\u00a0 Sweet Pea loves photography and making videos.\u00a0\u00a0If she gets ahold of your camera and\/or phone\u00a0she will be glad\u00a0to fill it up for you with anything and everything you can think of from photos to tutorial videos.\u00a0 When this product came up for review I thought it would be perfect for her to start exploring in the world of animation.<\/p>\n

\"Stopmotion<\/a><\/p>\n

The package that was sent to us from Stopmotion Explosion included a book ‘Stopmotion Explosion: Animate ANYTHING and Make MOVIES’, software installation disc, and a small camera.<\/p>\n

The book ‘Stopmotion Explosion: Animate ANYTHING and Make MOVIES is packed full with information about stopmotion technology.\u00a0 The book is almost 300 pages!\u00a0 The history of photography and\u00a0making films starts off\u00a0the beginning of the book.\u00a0 Later they give you ideas on differ things you can use in your movie such as Lego men, silly putty, ModiBots, or even creating your own figure!\u00a0 The book goes on to talk about creating stories, creating sets, and bringing your stories to life.\u00a0 You will also learn about cameras, lighting, and animation.<\/p>\n

There are several\u00a0projects to create\u00a0throughout the book.\u00a0 My personal favorite is building an armature beginning on page 26.\u00a0 He is made out of wire and other inexpensive materials.\u00a0 As plain as\u00a0it is\u00a0this armature\u00a0has an\u00a0I am fun come play with me written all over it.\u00a0\u00a0 Dress it up however you want!<\/p>\n

The installation\u00a0of the Stopmotion Explosion\u00a0very simple and quick.\u00a0\u00a0Once the program is installed you are ready to start creating your own movies and animate to your heart’s content.\u00a0 They do offer suggestions (both free and costs money) on pages 194 – 195 for video editing programs to use along with Stopmotion Explosion.\u00a0 You can also put together\u00a0your videos using their\u00a0interface (this is how we did ours).<\/p>\n

The kit includes a basic webcam that is good to start off\u00a0\u00a0with.\u00a0 The manual focus did take a little getting use to and sometimes tricky to adjust it without moving it.\u00a0 The webcam has a nice long cable (4.5 feet).\u00a0 I like the option of attaching it to something or standing it up. You can hook up your own camera if you choose.\u00a0 There are directions in the book about using a DSL and what kind of lens and filter you should use.<\/p>\n
