My family had the pleasure of reviewing Music Appreciation Book 1: for the Elementary Grades<\/a> by Zeezok Publishing LLC<\/a>.\u00a0 Book 1 covers seven composers: Schubert, Mozart, Paganini, Bach, Hayden, Handel, and Beethoven.\u00a0 The package includes\u00a0a student activity book, music discs, lapbook\u00a0CD, and\u00a0biographies for all seven composers.<\/p>\n

When I saw this review come up I was thrilled!\u00a0 I\u00a0believe that\u00a0music education is important!\u00a0 I grew up playing multiple instruments from elementary through college, and have continued to play the flute some since.\u00a0\u00a0I don’t remember studying composers in school.\u00a0 If we did it\u00a0was very little.\u00a0 I know there are college classes that cover this information\u00a0but I never took any of those.\u00a0 Sweet Pea is showing interest in music and then this review became available!\u00a0 Perfect timing!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0biographies about the composers are very well written and make perfect read a louds for the entire family.\u00a0 The book that we read was ‘Joseph Haydn the Merry Little Peasant’.\u00a0 There are 118 pages in this book.\u00a0 The font size is large and had wide margins.\u00a0 Just about every page had a beautiful illustration and\/or a music score.\u00a0 Also included with the music score is the location of where you can find it on the CD.\u00a0 I loved that it allowed us to play the music and read along on the score!\u00a0 Sweet Pea enjoyed being able to follow along and look at all of the illustrations as we were reading the book together.<\/p>\n

The student activity\u00a0book contains the activities for all seven composers.\u00a0 The consumable book comes with\u00a0perforated\u00a0pages and is already hole punched for\u00a0easy removal and storage in a notebook.\u00a0 Every composer has their own section and\u00a0every page is tagged with\u00a0which composer is being studied.\u00a0 Every composer has a suggested four week schedule but it is easily adapted to fit your\u00a0schedule\u00a0and the ages that you are teaching.\u00a0 An answer key is available at the end of every composer study.<\/p>\n
