It is that time of year again! The Awana Grand Prix! The grand prix is still a couple months away but we bought our car blanks tonight and planning will start soon. Our oldest three have been asking since September when the grand prix is going to be and they were thrilled when we bought the car blanks tonight! This year all five kids will be participating! The look on Train Buff’s face was priceless when he realized that he was getting one too!
In case you haven’t heard of the Awana Grand Prix, it is set up similar to the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. Clubbers design their cars and race them down a track. At the Awana Club that our kids attend there are awards for the top 3 in speed, top 3 in design, and a people’s choice award. The post linked below includes pictures from last year’s grand prix.
