Products from The Pencil Grip, Inc. are a favorite in our household!  My kids were very excited when the Thin Stix 6pk of Classic Colors arrived for us to review.

My family was first introduced to The Pencil Grip, Inc. last year when the Homeschool Review Crew had the opportunity to review a Classic set of Kwik Stix.  We quickly fell in love with them.  The kids got to paint more and less mess for me to worry about.  The same rings true for the Thin Stix 6pk of Classic Colors.

The paint sticks are solid tempera paint on a stick.  No water is needed and the paint dries in 90 seconds!  Yes, 90 seconds!  These amazing paint sticks are a mom’s dream come true!

The Thin Stix are about the size of a marker but has a wider tip.  The set that I received includes the following colors: black, brown, blue, green, orange, and yellow.

For the most part I can let the kids take the Thin Stix out and not worry about the mess.  I do have to watch a couple of my in-house artists a bit closer to make sure they don’t use the paint sticks to color the walls or a specific bookcase in the house that they have targeted.  Other than that I can let my kids have free reign with them without the worry about a huge mess.  The paint is easily cleaned off of the majority of surfaces.

The Pencil Grip, Inc. offers many options in colors and sizes!  They also offer a smaller and wider paint stick called Kwik Stix.  The Kwik Stix are about the size of a glue stick and are a perfect size for preschoolers.  Below are links for both the available Thin Stix and Kwik Stix sets.

My kids like to use the Thin Stix to create their own creations as well as color coloring pages.  We liked the thinner size of the Thin Stix for writing and drawing lines.

A cute story with the picture above.  Recently, Peanut has been saying and writing, “I am a mop.” when drawing pictures.  It is obviously not a mop.  When she was using the Thin Stix to draw a picture of her “mop”, she also drew a couple accompanying photos this time.  She told me they are butterflies.  Then it made complete sense that her mops are really moths!  Her butterflies to go along with the picture above are below.

In the picture above, Munchkin is showing off a picture that Sweet Pea drew of the two of them together.

Lil’ Bit used the Thin Stix to color in a coloring page.

If you would like to see some creations with the Kwik Stix that my children have done please check out Kwik Stix Review #1 and Kwik Stix Review #2.

I highly recommend Thin Stix to any parent, grandparent, or teacher looking for a stress free and mess free way to paint with tempera paint.  They make excellent gifts and stocking stuffers.
